Ordinance Amending Building Standards for MFT projects
Understanding the policy process requires the ability to analyze how policies are developed, implemented, and evaluated in real community contexts. Throughout the MPA program, I strengthened my ability to examine institutional structures, interpret political and administrative constraints, and identify how policies affect different groups of people. I also learned how critical it is to incorporate equity, transparency, and evidence into policy design.
The following artifacts demonstrate my ability to analyze policy failures, propose policy reforms, and draft legislation that addresses community needs. They also show how I apply theoretical concepts such as problem definition, agenda setting, and policy design to real world issues in Spokane and at the national level. These pieces reflect my commitment to advancing policies that are practical, equitable, and grounded in the lived experiences of affected communities.
